Trampoline Fun

Well, didn't take long for the pups to start enjoying the fun of the trampoline....Biz loves to run around the outside and the pups chase his feet underneath.

Great dad, loves his kids.....

Visit to Eastleigh

Last week, Sharon went to visit Debbie and Lindsay in Eastleigh..not to mention Jaffa and Honey.  The pups are the spitting image of Ash and Biz when they were younger.

They had a great time and it was good for Shy to take loads of photos.....a selection below:

They are turning out to be beautiful pups and it is great to see them grow up with smiles on their faces.

Leo on Youtube

Had an email from Patrick and Haruka, looks like Leo is having a Great time.......

"Hello Rob, Leo is growing up very fast! He has had lots of new experiences. We took him to a small river so he can get used to the water. Unfortunately he didn't like the water very much, but he is still a young pup. If we take him once a week or so he will hopefully enjoy swimming when he is grown up.

He has made two new big friends who are GREAT DANES :) When he first met them he was a bit afraid and the Danes weren't quite sure what to make of him, but they soon got used to each other. Leo started playing with them by jumping all over them, but they just ignored him. In the end whenever he went towards them, they would run away!

We had to buy him a new bed today as he has grown out of his old one. When we were out we met someone who asked if Leo was a Duck Toller. Haruka was very surprised as nobody else we have met has known his breed. Haruka was even more surprised when she said that she had an eight month old Toller!

You can see Leo's adventures on his Youtube channel.

Further adventures of Alpha

Had a wonderful email from Sean and Christine telling of the adventures of Alpha.

"I thought it was about time I sent you an update on little Alpha. He's come on leaps and bounds since I last e-mailed you. He seems to be fully house trained now and has leaned lots of new tricks. He's no longer scared of cars and is really enjoying his walks (he always gets lots of attention everywhere he goes).

We took him for his first walk up in the lakes last week, it was pouring down with rain but alpha loved every second of it! He even went in the lake for a swim chasing some ducks! He's such a happy dog who loves to be around people and other dogs, always wanting to play.

We last had him weighed about 2 weeks ago and he was 8 kgs so he's definitely growing up fast.

Its nice to see his brothers and sisters progressing well in the blogs too, I've attached some updated pics of the little man so you can see him on his adventures"
Great to see the big man having lots of love and loads of fun...can't want for the next instalment.

Saturday 10 September 2011

Debbie and Lindsey have sent us a great picture of Jaffa and Honey and what can only be described as a vegetable.

It's the first time I have seen the pups since they went to Eastleigh, and they look brilliant....with a well rounded diet by the looks of it.
Great pic....can't wait to see more.

Tuesday 6 September 2011

With Fella eventually going to my Father in Law in Herefordshire, he has recently had a 4 day holiday with Sharon and David.....to see whether he will get on seperated from his mum, dad and siblings. To be honest, he had a ball....he went on great walks in the woods, went swimming in the ford, played with my 4 nephews and left a tear in F-in-L's eye when he had to come home. He also met his cousin Finn who is on Ash's side of the family. He slept well and spent his spare time demolishing a pig's ear......good lad. Here are a few photos of his adventures:

Saturday 3 September 2011

Hi Folks Sorry to say that I have been very remiss with the blog of late; since the pups have mostly all gone and I finally had a bit of time to relax and contemplate things, I decided to have a bit of a break....well, who can blame me? Our 3 pups (Bootz, Cody and Fella) are all having a great time....they are now out of the cage and have slept in the kitchen for the last couple of nights without any mishaps at all...very pleased. Biz had become the greatest dad, he plays with the 3 nearly all day and is ready for bed at about 9(ish)...Ash has lost her milk more or less and has become her mischievousness self again....she prods the pups and runs away.....Chase me, chase me. Walking is hit and miss, they hate road walks, terrified of cars, but get them to the woods and they are possessed. Won't let them off the lead yet for a while; I'm sure they would be fine, but it is deciding when the right moment is. Feeding....wow, locusts....no sooner than the food is down, it is gone. Anyway, this is just a welcome back from me.... I will post a bit more later. lol

Gentleman Leo develops new tricks

Hello Rob

Leo has had a big day today, he met a baby for the first time. I was a bit worried about them meeting because I was afraid that Leo would start nipping (playing of course) the baby, but was very surprised when he didn't do anything. He was being very gentle and patient. The baby is around 1 so he can walk and tried to pat Leo a few times; I made sure that neither the baby nor Leo came to any harm. Leo was actually afraid of the baby at first, wasn't quite sure and kept his distance. However the baby wanted to play and Leo got used to him and they both started to play, Leo was very gentle and didn't nip or anything, he would just jumped around and was being very silly, which is what we love about him.

Leo is very clever. I tried to teach him sit just once by getting a treat and holding it above his nose. I said sit and from that one particular time he knew it! I have no clue how he learnt it just from one time. He already knows sit, down, roll over and high five. I wasn't planing on teaching him this so early, but if you do it once or twice he knows it! I also wasn't planning on teaching him high five, but he gives you his paw anyway so I thought I might as well. I really just wanted to see if he will sit by himself with you not touching him (just guiding him with a treat) or if you have to move him in the position. I have never come across a puppy that gets things so quickly.

He was very playful today he ran up and down the garden, he would chase you, and jump everywhere. Very Funny.

In the pictures you can see him on Leo's BIG day, if you look at the last picture it looks like he is smiling in his sleep!

Honey and Jaffa head South

Another emotional day for me....young Honey (Pickle) and Jaffa have left for their new home in Eastleigh. No drama though, Debbie and Lindsay are our oldest friends and will be bringing the pair to stay when they venture north into the wilds of Cambridgeshire.

Debbie reports an eventful journey with a bit of car sickness, but they got home ok. last night they slept well in their new cage, but Honey managed to get her head stuck...well she is an inquisitive young lady.

Flash Gordon touches down

Gordon (big teddy bear) has arrived......look out Lolly!!! Big cuddly Gordon has arrived at his new home and has started to make his presence felt.

Day 1

"Gordon has arrived safely at his new home. Lolly (our Spaniel) is a bit jealous but being very good, especially as Gordon tried to eat her dinner, ignoring his own! He has managed to get up the steps in our garden and is sniffing his way around. He was a bit car sick but now OK and seems to be settling in.

What a lovely little fellow, a real credit to you, thanks for bringing him up so beautifully.

I will send 'photos soon. He is currently rumbling around the garden, having a great time"

Day 2

"I think Gordon was a bit homesick this morning! A bit of crying, bit of weeing and trying to get at Lolly's teats! She gave him a small biff to sort that one out and they are best of friends again ....

He is like a little bear rumbling round the place, sniffing and exploring. I have attached a few photos for your blog. Got him a toy for teething this morning as he is starting to chew extensively! We are trying to puppy proff the house but casualties expected!"

Alfa - Duck Toller by name, Duck Toller by nature

Alfa will be missed too...he was the oldest in the litter and had developed quite a fun temperament...loves to play and has a delightful smile.

He was picked up by Sean and Christine yesterday and had a whacking journey of over 3 hours to look forward to before he got to his new home; things went reasonably well from the report.

Little alfa was an absolute star on the way home, no poo's, wee's or car sickness. He cried for about 20 mins but soon settled down after being fussed by christine. He then slept the rest if the way home. He's had a couple of little accidents at home but he's still getting used to his strange surroundings and he's still managed another 2 wee's and poo's outside since so I think he's learning fast (i don't know where he stores it all!) :-) I think we know we're got our hands full with him over the next few weeks but we're going to have a lot of fun with him. I've sent you a picture of him playing with his new duck but he's been chasing his little tennis ball around all night too.

Great news, and look forward to seeing pictures of him at the seaside and lakes.

Leo's new home.

Well, to be honest, I was sad when little Leo left; he and I had developed quite a bond over the last couple of weeks...he would sit by me and we would chat about the weather and things...ok, I would talk and he would just look as if he was interested...subtle.

Anyway, sadness left for joy when i saw the pictures from Patrick and Haruka this morning; Leo looks happy in his new surroundings...

Here is a report of the first day and night in his new home:

He was very good on the journey home, sleeping most of the way. He wimpered a few times but was completely clean. When we got home he was a bit nervous at first but soon settled in. As you can see from the pictures, he likes to sleep under the armchairs. The first time he was right against the wall, but is now showing more of himself as he sleeps. He doesn't seem interested in his bed at all, last night when we put him in his crate, he settled down on the piece of carpet we put in for him. We put him to bed just after nine and he was quiet and clean all night, waking up at 5:30. He was very excited to see us in the morning!

He likes playing with the sausage on a rope toy. He pines for his family a bit when he is tired and this means he will sleep in a few minutes. He had one little accident in the kitchen yesterday, but apart from that has been completely clean.

Thank you so much for bringing up such a well behaved and loving puppy. He is a perfect addition to our family.

And on that note.....I am really pleased and look forward to his future adventures.

Amazing new door mat.........very cute and cuddly

Hi all

Out hanging the washing when i turned and saw all the pups cuddling up on the door step......aaawwwww!!!

Saturday 16 July 2011

New collars

The pups who have new collars have started to wear them from this morning in order for them to get used to them.

No fuss and no drama....a few scratchings around the neck, but they are getting used to them.

House Training coming on a treat

Hi all

Just a quick one....

The pups are really maturing well now...they are starting to understand when and where to do their business. OK, still not 100%, but they are getting there.

In the morning I let them out of their pen, they charge straight into the garden for a synchronised poo and wee fest. Most morning there is just the one or two little accidents in the pen, but that is acceptable.

They are learning that the grass is the place to go.

Happy days

Sunday 10 July 2011

Free.......

The boys and girls now spend most of their time outside in the run, or running FREE!!!!

They absolutely love the freedom around the garden, in and out of the bushes and the runs. They are very curious about the 2 rabbits...I am happy for Biz and Ash to play with them, but not sure how the female bunny would take to young pups jumping on her.....might be a nightmare.

We have totally puppy proofed the garden, was a bit of a job, but I now have confidence that they won't slip into the neighbour's garden.

Here are a few shots of the excitement.

Please don't ask which pup is which.....they are all beautiful.
